When everything feels overwhelming, how do you reset? How do you bring things back into focus and calm it all down?
Sometimes, I just like to watch the world do its thing. I cook a big dinner and make all my kids come home, to listen to them chatter and share news with each other. I like to watch people go about their busy errands. I like seeing restaurant goers lunching with their families. The sounds of conversation, laughter or even tension fuel my creative juices.
I love watching kids, they ground us with their simple, uncomplicated joy. It has a unique way of soothing our souls and resetting our minds. When we take the time to observe children as they laugh, imagine, and create, we’re invited into their world of wonder. If we pay attention, they’ll teach us the magical things we’ve forgotten. Children are natural creators. Their imaginative play sparks our own creativity, encouraging us to embrace our playful side, or simply reminding us to daydream.
So, take a moment to pause and watch. Sit in a sunbeam and let life and imagination wash over you, reminding you that sometimes, the simplest joys are the ones that nourish our souls the most.
